Major Learning Outcomes for the Spanish Language and Hispanic Cultures Major
4.1 Students describe concepts of culture and use that understanding in their comparison of Hispanic cultures with a second culture other than those.

Reflective Narrative
In addition to the focus on Hispanic cultures, it is crucial for students to apply their knowledge gained throughout the major to analyze, understand, and appreciate other cultures apart from the concentration. For this major learning outcome, students will be able to delve into another culture of their choice, where through history, art, and literature they will be able to learn about the customs, beliefs, traditions, and values of a community different from their own in a respectful and empathetic way.
